Revised Travel Advisory for BALI issued on 16.11.2017

The local authorities have lowered the status of Mount Agung in Bali from Level IV (dangerous) to Level III (alert). They have also reduced the danger zone (no activity) area from 9 KM radius around the mountain to 6 KM. Prohibition of all activities in the area classified as dangerous continues. The situation is being monitored continuously by the local authorities. The main tourist areas of Kuta, Legian and Nusa Dua, at present, do not face danger of any immediate impact in the event of an eruption. The authorities have advised that contingency plans in the event of an eruption are in place for situations arising out of airport closure. 

While the status of Mount Agung has been lowered, Indian nationals visiting Bali are advised to stay alert and keep abreast with the latest situation through their hotels, airlines and tour operators and avoid the notified zone that has been declared dangerous by the authorities. Indian tourists may convey their name(s), place of stay and travel itinerary to the Consulate by e-mail ( so that they can be contacted in an emergency.
