Celebration of the 75th  Republic Day of India in Bali

The 75th Republic Day of India was celebrated at the Consulate General of India, Bali on 26th January 2024 with a flag-unfurling ceremony. The event, held with much gaiety and patriotic fervour, was attended by over hundred people, including Consulate and Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre Bali (SVCC Bali) officials, family members, members of the Indian community, students, friends of India and media. This Republic Day is being celebrated as a part of commemoration of the 75 years of India-Indonesia diplomatic relations.
The event commenced with the unfurling of the national flag by Consul General Dr. Shashank Vikram, followed by the singing of the National Anthem ‘Jana Gana Mana’. Thereafter, the Consul General greeted the public on the national day and read out the address of Hon’ble President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu to the nation on the eve of the Republic Day.
A series of cultural programme followed, with the participation of the chorus of Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School students, who performed a patriotic song ‘India Wale’. Mesmerising Indian fusion dance performances were presented by the dance teacher and students of SVCC Bali. India in Bali group also enlivened the event by their patriotic-themed Bollywood dance performances.
At the end of the programme, the Consul General presented tokens of appreciation in the form of trophies and certificates to all performers. Light refreshments consisting of authentic Indian cuisines were served at the end of the programme.
